Just received the following in an email from my friend, and thought I ought to share it for all of those of us who like the occasional glass of wine
I just read an article on the dangers of heavy drinking....Scared the cr*p out of me.
So that's it! - This year, no more reading.
This year started out with me managing to get a chest infection, which is still refusing to go completely away. Have still got a nasty cough.
The knee is improving slowly, although it reacted badly to a dose of sister shopping yesterday. I have three sisters and from time to time we meet up for a day of shopping and chatting. We hit the shops as they open for coffee, shop, have lunch, shop, have afternoon tea, shop and then generally get thrown out of shops as they are closing. I have to confess that yesterday we were all done by 2.00 as we had Mum with us as well, and if anything I am slower than her at the moment. We went to Salisbury, which is a lovely place and were lucky that the rain just drizzled so we did not get too wet. One of the few towns (oops cities) left that does not have an indoor shopping mall - thank goodness, I much prefer getting out into the street away from the heat of the shops and for a breath of fresh air.

Mary, it's good to see an entry and i'm happy to hear the knee is improving, even if slowly. A day of shopping wears me out - I give you credit for doing it with your knee still healing. Salisbury sounds like a wonderful place to visit. I agree with you, I would rathre shop in various shops than inside a shopping mall. take care, hope the knee keeps coming along well for you.

Glad to hear your knee is slowly improving. I bet you can feel a little bit of difference every day. A day of shopping is so much fun. I love it even better when it is outdoors along the high street. That type of shopping is so much nicer. Those indoor malls just have no personality in my opinion, but I do admit when the rain it bucketing down they do have their advantages!

I couldnt see your picture ,Iam pleased you enjoyed your shopping trip ,even if you were a bit slow ,We went to a Panto in Salibury a couple of Christmas's ago, when we spent Christmas with my son and his family in Gillingham ..love Jan xx
I can't get rid of my chest infection either. It's driving me insane, add Doc harping at me it's time to go to the dr. I want to try to get through another week or so before I start even considering a dr. and the wasted money to pay to go see him.
I love the shops that line the streets so you can walk along and enjoy window shopping as well as the freedom of not being crowded in a mall. (Hugs) Indigo
How are you Mary? I see you haven't posted in a while. I hope the chest infection has cleared up and your knee is less painful. Jeannette xx
